Answers to common questions about how Clearspeed works, integrates, and differs from other approaches.

FAQ

What clients and sectors does Clearspeed support?
Clearspeed works wherever organizations need a precise assessment of risk to extend trust at scale, with clients across insurance and banking, government and defense, and sports integrity.
How does Clearspeed use AI?
Clearspeed’s custom AI solution enhances and scales the application of our high-precision model, delivering consistent, validated risk assessments for customers at any scale. We took the visual and audio intelligence from our human experts and encoded this in artificial intelligence to effectively and accurately deliver results at scale. AI is not used to form any decision on scoring. Read more about Clearspeed’s approach to AI from our CEO Alex Martin.
Does Clearspeed recommend action or make decisions on our behalf?
Clearspeed identifies elevated risk; it does not make decisions, confirm fraud, or replace human judgment. Our trust insights simply inform the decision process, allowing clients to clear low-risk more quickly, and focus their resources where potential risk is flagged.
How do you address potential bias?
Clearspeed assesses universal vocal characteristics that are present across every language, geography, and demographic. We assess the risk associated with the information a person provides, not who they are. No personal identifiers, historical data, or demographic profiles are used or required. The result is an objective risk indicator that works the same way for everyone to avoid potential bias.
How do we integrate Clearspeed?
Clearspeed can be integrated within any system with open API capabilities, meaning it fits into existing workflows without requiring infrastructure changes. Our team will work with you to identify the optimal integration point.
Do you require external data for your technology to work properly?
Clearspeed does not require external data for its technology to work properly, and that’s exactly what sets us apart from other risk solutions. We’re a primary measure, not a model, so we don’t require personally identifiable information (PII), historical data, or other external generalized data points. Instead we only screen and analyze the real-time response of an individual to a few simple yes/no questions.
Is Clearspeed GDPR-compliant?
Clearspeed is GDPR-compliant and operating across six continents.
Does Clearspeed require a customer’s personal data?
No. Clearspeed requires no PII or personal identifiers to generate a risk indicator, it is purpose-built to support privacy-first deployment. For more information, visit our Privacy Policy.
Can Clearspeed detect recorded, artificial, synthetic and other types of counterfeit or suspicious voice responses?
Yes. Clearspeed identifies non-human, synthetic, and counterfeit voice responses - including AI-generated audio. The capability is operationally validated and continues to advance as the threat evolves.
How does Clearspeed differ from a polygraph?
Unlike polygraphs, Clearspeed does not measure truthfulness or detect deception. Rather, our approach is objective and unbiased, assessing for indications of potential risk and to what degree without invasive physical hooks-ups or human intervention or analysis. We help you determine who should proceed to the next stage of your process, and who should be paused for further scrutiny. Read more here.
